Yep. this is something everyone should know because improper sex toy hygiene can transmit bacteria and cause unwanted consequences in your sweet regions down south.

Plus, you're a clean, healthy, and smart human, which is why you know how important it is to use sex toys to learn your personal preferences for sexual satisfaction. Nobody cares more about your climax than you!

That's why it's mandatory for YOU to know how to turn YOU on, and it's also pretty handy info to share with your partner. Because sex is more fun when you know how to have an orgasm. And sex toys can help you learn what type of stimulation makes you explode with ecstasy.

So back to the business of cleaning the products that make you cum. Warm water and antibacterial soap can go a long way to keep many sex toys clean. But not all toys were created equally and the first thing you need to know is what your toy is made from.

This information can usually be found on the box and the manufacturer’s website as well as the store where the toy was purchased. In general, sex toys can be categorized as porous or non-porous based on what they’re made of.

Non-Porous Toys include hard plastic, silicone, and glass. These can be washed with antibacterial soap and warm water. Some glass pyrex toys are dishwasher safe and the packaging label will indicate this when applicable.

Porous Toys include nylon, vinyl, cyberskin, leather, and rubber.

  • Nylon toys can be hand washed with antibacterial soap and some items can even be machine washed.
  • Toys made from cyberskin and vinyl should be washed with warm water only and air-dried with a light dusting with cornstarch prevent stickiness.
  • Leather toys should be cleaned with a damp soapy cloth, but don’t soak it. This can be followed with leather conditioner to increase longevity of the toy.
  • Rubber toys should always be used with condoms because they may contain chemicals that are harmful to health. So - it’s just smart to use a condom with rubber toys. After use, wash with warm soap.

STORING SEX TOYS

Sex toys should be stored in a cool, dry place where there’s minimal moisture. A shoebox sized box could be used to store a few sex toys, but don’t overcrowd the sex toys into one box. Ideally, after each toy is clean and dry, it can be placed in it’s own soft lined bag before being put into the toy box.
