Yoga for Better Sex is a movement and meditation workshop created by Dr. Sonjia Kenya, a sexologist, yoga instructor, and professor of medicine at the University of Miami. Building upon scientific studies showing how yoga significantly improves sexual functioning, Dr. Sonjia created the Yoga for Better Sex series to provide adults with fun opportunities to nurture their physical and sexual well-being at the same time.
Dr. Sonjia has been teaching the course at the World Erotic Art Museum in Miami Beach since 2017. Each thoughtfully curated session combines yoga poses with sensual meditations and music at specific frequencies to arouse chakra energy. The sessions provide a sacred, safe place where learners are guided through postures and techniques to align their physical, mental, spiritual, and sexual powers while increasing flexibility and strengthening muscles used for sexual stimulation. Intentional infusions encourage students to explore the healing powers of self-love, release limitations, and become more comfortable expressing intimacy.
Dr. Sonjia Kenya is an ivy-league educated sexologist, yoga instructor, full professor of medicine, and author of the book, “Sex in South Beach.” She also hosts the Sex in South Beach Podcast. Her obsession is developing playful programs that empower adults to have easy, fun, and informed experiences that lead to better sex. At the University of Miami, she develops solutions to common sex problems, educates physicians on sexual health, and leads the largest street-based sexual wellness program in the County. Outside of the University, she develops natural products and experiences to help adults improve their sexual well-being. Dr. Sonjia lives with her family in Miami Beach and volunteers at local women’s shelters.

“I took the class in person when my husband took me to Miami to celebrate my recovery from breast cancer. Wow! Our trip was great, but the class was the best part and really helped us reconnect intimately during our trip. Dr. Sonjia helped us discover new ways to get the spark going. Her energy was so soothing. Every aspect of the class was designed to create a healing and transformative experience. And it worked!"

“I took all seven sessions of the class when I wanted to start dating again. I needed to rebuild my idea of sexual pleasure and improve my self-esteem before getting into another relationship so when my sister told me about this class, it was a no-brainer. I never did yoga before but I was blown away by Dr. Sonjia's class. She taught me so much about chakras and different parts of my body and it really made me feel like my mind, body, and sexuality were connected. And it was super relaxing. Definitely a step in the right direction."

“Trying a yoga class focused on sex made me a little nervous but Dr. Sonjia is a pro. I immediately felt comfortable the minute she said hello. She's so chill and her class is organized so well -which really helps you learn, move, and feel things all at the same time. At the end, your sex life has already improved and all you did was take a yoga class!"
